Scouts! Earning Merit Badges is Fun!

The Boy Scouts of America has 136 merit badges you can earn to learn new skills and advance your scouting career.  Troop 401 has a great stable of merit badge counselors who will work with you to complete the badges.  Many are experts in their field and great enthusiasts for their topic!

The list of counselors is shown under "Who's Who"  (note: this list is downloaded from Scoutbook and kept current there).  There's also a full list of badges.

Please contact Mrs. Singer or Mrs. Rizzo to connect you with the counselor in Scoutbook, find the right person or identify counselors for badges not listed.

Here are a couple of tips:

For each merit badge there is:
*A pamphlet of background material
*A list of requirements (online and in the book)
*A helpful worksheet you can fill in to track progress (online)

We have a library of merit badge pamphlets you can borrow, you can also buy them online or get the e-book at http://www.scoutstuff.org

TIPS:
*  You can download the “.docx” version of the worksheet and type right into it.
*  Take photos and video as you complete requirements as a way to show your counselor what you’ve done
*  Come to our three “Advancement nights” to meet counselors.

*  Mark your calendars to attend Merit Badge University (Jan. 27, 2018) to start merit badges - some can be completed in a single day.

*  Attend a summer camp complete merit badges throughout the week.
