Alpine Hike in Austria

In October, Troop 401 went on its annual Alpine hike, this time to the Achensee area of

Austria. This is very much a family activity so a number of parents and adult leaders also

attended. The trip started early on Saturday morning with flights to Innsbruck from Gatwick

Airport. After arrival Scouts were able to get an initial hike in. As usual, the Troop stayed in

a hotel with Scouts sharing rooms.

Sunday and Monday was set aside for longer hikes in the beautiful Alpine scenery with

groups arranged by the level of hiking experience. On Tuesday Scouts were able to engage

in group activities before taking a flight back to London.
